The UK plans to provide Ukraine with three billion pounds of annual military aid.

Foreign Secretary David Cameron stated this in an interview with Reuters.

According to him, London plans to provide such assistance to Kyiv “as long as it takes”.

The announced annual support for Ukraine from the UK is the largest since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion and amounts to about $3.74 billion.

“We will give three billion pounds every year for as long as is necessary. We’ve just really emptied all we can in terms of giving equipment,” the Foreign Secretary said.

According to Cameron, who was in Kyiv on May 2, part of the aid from Britain comes during his visit.

“Some of that (equipment) is actually arriving in Ukraine today, while I’m here,” the minister said.

Cameron said Ukraine had a right to use the weapons provided by London to strike targets inside Russia, and that it was up to Kyiv whether to do so.

“Ukraine has that right. Just as Russia is striking inside Ukraine, you can quite understand why Ukraine feels the need to make sure it’s defending itself,” he emphasized.

In April, the UK government announced the largest military aid package for Ukraine, worth £500 million.

It is intended for the rapid delivery of ammunition to Ukraine, including additional Storm Shadow cruise missiles, air defense missiles and armored vehicles, and drones to be purchased from British manufacturers.

BAE Systems signed an agreement with the UK government to maintain and repair of L119 howitzers in Ukraine. The agreement will allow the repaired equipment to be transferred directly to the battlefield as soon as possible.
