The Ukrainian military are mastering Polish T-72M1 and T-72M1R tanks
Ukrainian tankers master tanks donated as part of Polish aid to protect against Russian aggression.
Previously, Polish media reported that Ukraine has received more than 200 combat tanks.
In particular, the Armed Forces of Ukraine received the T-72M1 and T-72M1R tanks.
Recently, a video of these tanks in Ukraine appeared on social networks.
It should be noted that these tanks do not have dynamic protection, which should increase the protection of armored vehicles from the high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) and anti-tank missiles.
It is likely that in the future the tanks will be equipped with reactive armour system “Kontact-1”.
The T-72M tank is an export version of the Soviet T-72A tank. In 1982, the world saw the M1 model – a further development of the T-72M tank.
The tank received an additional 16-mm armor plate on the upper front part of the hull and the combined armor of the turret.
T-72M1 were produced in the USSR, Czechoslovakia, Poland, India and were sold to the GDR, Algeria, Bulgaria, Iraq, Libya, Syria and many other countries.
Т-72М1R
The T-72M1R tanks were also shown in a video with the Ukrainian military. Although the tank is not new, this Polish modernization gives an advantage over the Russian T-72B by thermal imaging sight being added.
The T-72M1R tanks were also shown in a video with the Ukrainian military. Although the tank is not new, this Polish modernization gives an advantage over the Russian T-72B by the presence of a thermal weapon sight.
Also, it includes installation of satellite navigation receivers and a number of other improvements, such as placing behind the turret of a special basket for transporting goods behind the turret.
