Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Defense has authorized 9 Ukrainian ground robotic systems for use in the military.

The Defense Ministry’s press service reported on this.

It is noted that the systems perform a variety of tasks on the battlefield, reducing the risk to Ukrainian soldiers.

In particular, these are combat robotic ground platforms with machine guns, as well as systems for evacuating the wounded and mining.

“Many domestic manufacturers are now focused on producing the robotic systems to increase the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and save the lives of our soldiers,” Volodymyr Rochnyak, Head of the Department, noted.

He shared that 9 ground robotic systems created by Ukrainian gunsmiths have been codified since the beginning of 2024.

According to him, codified unmanned platforms are designed to perform various tasks on the battlefield. Some of them carry weapons systems, including machine guns of various calibers. They allow Ukrainian soldiers to remotely fire at the enemy from cover.

The unmanned ground systems codified this year also include platforms designed to evacuate the wounded from the battlefield, perform logistics tasks, and mine and demine.

In addition, in the first three months of 2024, the Ministry of Defense accepted more than 80 samples of domestically produced weapons and military equipment to operate in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The largest group in this list is ammunition of various types and calibers. The second group in terms of the number of weapons and equipment approved for operation in January-March this year is UAVs.

In addition to modernized drones designed for aerial reconnaissance, there are new drones of various types: both FPV kamikaze drones and reusable strike UAVs designed for combat use at various distances.

The third group includes ground-based robotic systems and electronic warfare (EW).
