Three villages liberated in Kherson region – Zelensky
The defense forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region liberated three more settlements from the Russian invaders during the day.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in his video address on October 5.
Three villages were liberated: Novovoskresenske, Novohryhorivka and Petropavlivka.
“Only during this day in the Kherson region, such settlements as Novovoskresenske, Novohryhorivka and Petropavlivka were liberated from the sham referendum and stabilized. The movement continues,” Zelenskyi said.
He also praised the soldiers of the Air Force who managed to shoot down 6 Iranian-made Shahed-136 kamikaze drones, which are used by the Russian invaders.
As previously reported, on October 4, Volodymyr Zelensky announced the liberation of 8 villages in the Kherson region from the Russian invaders.
The following villages returned under the control of the Ukrainian authorities: Liubymivka, Khreshchenivka, Zolota Balka, Biliaivka, Ukrainka, Velyka and Mala Oleksandrivka, and Davydiv Brid.
The Operational Command “South” reported that the Ukrainian villages were liberated as a result of a “carefully planned and brilliantly executed military operation.”
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian invaders continue to regroup and withdraw their units in the Southern Bug direction.
As a result of the gradual liberation by the Defense Forces of the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, representatives of private security companies from the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea plan to evacuate back to the occupied peninsula.
During the counteroffensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region, Ukrainian forces destroyed and captured Russian T-62M/MV tanks.
On these outdated tanks, the Russian military installs improvised anti-cumulative screens, which are supposed to protect the turret from explosive devices dropped by drones.
