UAH 14 million were raised for anti-drone systems

Air Defense Ukraine Volunteers

Volunteers raised significant funds for special metal nets and aluminum telescopic masts intended to protect Ukraine’s air defense systems.

Serhiy Prytula reported that his Foundation managed to collect UAH 14,179,341.

The nets will be designed to protect air defense systems from the Russian Lancet loitering munition.

“Air defense will have reliable protection against Russian Lancets. And since we, as usual, raised more, we will be able to provide more help. We are buying even more protection, now also for anti-aircraft missile regiments,” Serhiy Prytula said.

The protective system consists of special telescopic masts with a stretched net over them, which should stop the attack drones.

The project’s goal is to protect the systems of four anti-aircraft missile brigades (96th, 160th, 138th, and 208th Brigades).

“We are purchasing hundreds of 10-meter aluminum telescopic masts and metal nets to protect launchers, radars, and combat control points of air defense systems. And the most important thing is to protect the lives and health of our Heroes who hold the sky,” the Foundation added.

It also reported that such designs have already been tested in combat conditions and have proven themselves well.

Russian Lancet loitering munition has become a major problem for Ukrainian artillery and air defense systems.

This drone is equipped with a KZ-6 demolition charge placed on mounting foam, which pierces holes in the armor of the equipment.

The standard KZ-6 demolition charge is intended to pierce holes in steel (metal) plates, armored shelters, reinforced concrete, concrete plates, and walls.

The explosion of the KZ-6 charge in the air or underwater penetrates armor up to 215 mm thick, a reinforced concrete slab up to 550 mm thick, and soil to a depth of up to 800 mm.
