Ukraine buys 60% of the total volume of Chinese Mavic drones, not including other UAV purchases.

To counter Russian aggression, Ukraine is actively using unmanned aerial vehicles, including the Chinese-made ones.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal made the corresponding statement during the Kyiv International Economic Forum.

“This year we have allocated an additional UAH 40 billion for the purchase of drones. These are drones of Ukrainian and foreign production. Ukraine buys 60% of the world’s Mavic production,” the Prime Minister said.

According to him, in addition to imports, Ukraine independently produces a line of powerful UAVs, which are making “certain technological breakthroughs.”

The Prime Minister emphasized that the government is trying to facilitate and accelerate the creation of the Ukrainian drone market, and is similarly engaged in stimulating breakthroughs in other areas of the defense industry and industrial sector, as well as investing in dual-use technologies.

“We will continue to do so, meaning that investing in the military today is a promising business. In addition to shaping the wartime economy, it will also affect the economy of the future,” summarized Denys Shmyhal.

On October 10, the Cabinet of Ministers simplified the import of raw materials for the production of ammunition and UAV warheads. This will help increase the production of drones.

In July, the government also launched a pilot project to simplify state export controls on the import of goods needed for large-scale production of drones.

In March, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a pilot project on defense procurement of Ukrainian-made unmanned systems and agreed on the procedure for this project.

In February, the Cabinet of Ministers simplified the import of a number of military and dual-use goods into Ukraine by removing the issue of expert control of drones and their parts.

As previously reported, Ukrainian troops will receive more Switchblade 600 kamikaze drones, which can significantly enhance their ability to eliminate targets behind the front line.
