Ukraine’s Brave1 Cluster Unveils Ratel Deminer for Remote Mine Clearance

Ukraine has developed the Ratel Deminer remote-controlled mine clearance system within the Brave1 defense cluster.

The Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced this.

Ratel Deminer is a mine trawler that detects and neutralizes anti-personnel mines. It operates remotely, which means it saves the lives of military personnel.

The system is equipped with a daytime video channel and is capable of destroying PFM-1, PMN-4, PMN-3 and PMN-2 mines.

The developers have already tested the vehicle during humanitarian demining from anti-personnel mines near Sviatohirsk, Donetsk region.

Ratel Deminer received the BRV1 status, which means that the development has been prioritized by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The system is currently being finalized and its capacity is being increased.

This is not the first development from this manufacturer to make its way to Brave1. The Ratel S and Ratel M ground robots have been codified and are actively used by the military.

Militarnyi previously reported that Ukraine tested more than 50 new ground platforms for various purposes for the military.

Strike platforms, turrets, and equipment capable of destroying Russian positions and equipment, as well as performing tasks such as mining, demining, evacuating the wounded, and delivering ammunition to positions, were tested.

According to Mikhailo Fedorov, unmanned ground platforms will become the next game changer in this war.

Currently, more than 140 unmanned platforms are registered on the Brave1 platform, 96 of them have passed defense expertise, and 14 developments have been codified according to NATO standards.

The test involved several types of ground-based “kamikaze drones” that are being prepared to defeat Russian forces.
