Ukraine is stepping up security cooperation with Finland, as agreed during Finnish President Alexander Stubb’s visit to Kyiv.

The President of Ukraine announced this on his official page in Telegram.

The agreement was signed between the two countries to further deepen defense cooperation and support in the fight against the Russian aggressor.

In addition, it covers a number of other areas, such as political support, support for Ukraine’s defense and security, and support for reform and reconstruction.

“The 10-year agreement is proof of Finland’s long-term commitment to supporting Ukraine,” the Office of the President of Finland emphasized.

In addition, the Finnish President noted that his country will send an additional military aid package to Ukraine.

Its total cost will be €188 million, which will help Ukraine continue its fight against the Russian aggressor.

The Finnish government officials noted that since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion, Finland has allocated about €2 billion to support Ukraine.

In addition to military assistance, Finland is a participant in various initiatives aimed at supporting Ukraine.

In March 2024, Finland’s government allocated €30 million for the purchase of artillery shells for Ukraine within a Czech initiative.

In addition, Finland will double its ammunition production to help Ukraine.

The agency has committed to investing approximately €24 million to boost the production of heavy ammunition and secure long-term orders from the Finnish industry. This initiative aims to enable the industry to make independent investments.
