Ukraine will produce equipment for demining
The Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine will be responsible for launching the production of equipment for humanitarian demining.
This was announced by Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister for Strategic Industries.
The government has launched an updated government policy on humanitarian demining.
“The Ministry of Strategic Industries under this program is responsible for launching the local production of equipment for humanitarian demining,” Kamyshin said.
He stressed that the problem with humanitarian demining will remain relevant for Ukraine for some time.
Therefore, this creates an opportunity for domestic manufacturers to master the production of such equipment.
“Now — for our own country, and someday — for other countries as well,” the minister emphasized.
He assured that there are enough qualified manufacturers in Ukraine who will be able to master and produce such equipment, and called on companies with relevant developments to join the common work.
The Cabinet of Ministers is trying to attract as many operators as possible for the speedy demining of the territory of Ukraine.
Currently, both state structures, such as the State Emergency Service and the Ministry of Defense, and private operators are engaged in mine clearance in Ukraine. In general, more than 30 countries and partner organizations provide support for humanitarian demining in Ukraine.
Recall that Australian experts have developed a new technology for detecting landmines. The technology can detect the molecular signature of explosives using magnetic resonance.
