Ukraine will spend over UAH 44 billion on FPV drones this year
This year, more than UAH 44 billion will be allocated to purchase FPV drones, including fiber optic drones, for the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The Ministry of Defense reported on this.
This is provided for in the defense department’s procurement plans for unmanned aerial vehicles for 2025.
These plans were presented during a meeting with representatives of the Technological Forces of Ukraine, an association of leading manufacturers of innovative weapons for defense purposes.
The participants discussed scaling up the production and supply of unmanned systems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as simplifying bureaucratic procedures.

The Ministry of Defense hopes this would allow for faster integration of new drone models into the military.
“While last year the main financial resource was directed to the purchase of long-range deep strike drones, this year more than UAH 44 billion is planned for the purchase of FPV, including fiber-optic models,” Hlib Kanevsky, director of the Defense Ministry’s Procurement Policy Department, shared.
The meeting participants paid special attention to reducing the delivery time of drones from production to combat units, as well as expanding the range of suppliers and manufacturers of defense products.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine emphasized that meetings with manufacturers allow for the timely resolution of urgent issues of army supply, development of domestic technologies, and optimization of logistics processes.
In early February, First Deputy Minister of Defense Ivan Havryliuk said that in 2025, the level of supply of unmanned systems to the Ukrainian Defense Forces would increase to about 200,000 per month. He emphasized, however, that this refers not only to FPV drones but also to the entire range of drones.
