Ukrainian Armor has developed an FPV attack drone equipped with a 60-mm mortar shell.
Vladyslav Belbas, the company’s CEO, shared this in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.
The new drone is currently being tested to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
“We have developed an FPV drone with a 60-mm munition. We are working on it together with the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is already gradually destroying the Muscovites. The Ministry of Defense is currently testing it,” Belbas shared.
He added that the company is not just entering the UAV market, but is trying to find a unique niche to bring real benefits to the frontline.

“We don’t want to just repeat what dozens of companies are already doing but are looking for innovative solutions that will give us a competitive advantage and bring real benefits to the front. Since we do not create ammunition from scratch but adapt existing ones, this is the key, not the wings,” the company’s CEO noted.
As the basis of the FPV drone, Ukrainian Armor uses a 60-mm mine body, which, as noted, is now less used at the front. In addition, it is noted that such a munition does not require scarce fuzes.
“Just screw on the motors, wings, and battery, and it’s easy to scale into millions of units,” Belbas explained.
According to him, this solution allows for the use of standard mortar ammunition, significantly reducing the cost of producing attack drones.
Production of ammunition
Last December, Vladyslav Belbas told Militarnyi that Ukrainian Armor would receive licenses from the European defense holding Czechoslovak Group to produce tank and artillery shells.

The license implies permission, as well as the transfer of technology and production documentation for works and components to be manufactured in Ukraine. At the start of the project, more than 50% of the work will be localized.
According to the company’s plans, the localization of Western ammunition production will begin with producing M107 shells, followed by long-range 155-mm rounds. Production of 105-mm and 120-mm ammunition is scheduled to begin in 2026.
