‘Ukrainian Armor’ Reveals Mortars and Mortar Rounds Production Rate

The ‘Ukrainian Armor’ company revealed some details regarding the pace of production of mortar rounds and mortars.

The company’s CEO, Vladislav Belbas, told ABC News that the company produces about 100 mortars of various calibers every month.

As of today, the company has a rate of production of mortar rounds at the level of about 20,000 per month.

In total, the company reached a production rate of 1,200 mortars and 240,000 mortar mines per year. It can’t be ruled out that these rates will grow in 2024.

At the same time, during the hostilities, part of the production capacity of the enterprise was lost, and some of it fell into occupation.

However, ‘Ukrainian Armor’ has now resumed the serial production of ammunition on relocated sites using the principles of distributed production.

Vladislav Belbas recently said that defense companies are also hampered by the still unresolved issue of personnel for enterprises in the military-industrial complex.

“People who work in defense enterprises take no less risks. Now that mobilization is intensifying, there are problems with the reservation of employees for defense industries. At the same time, there is no understanding about the timing of demobilization or when a person will be able to return to production,” he said.

To increase the rate of production of defense products, the company is trying to maximize the involvement of everyone who is available in the labor market.

Recall that in 2023 it became known that ‘Ukrainian Armor’ resumed serial production of mortar rounds of 60mm caliber. The company also established the production of 120mm mortar rounds.

‘Ukrainian Armor’ has been producing a line of mortars since 2017, including various calibers: 82mm, 120mm, and 60mm. The demand at the time of the launch was small, but the niche was not filled by anyone else.

In total, at the time of the invasion, the company had about 12 development projects in the process.
