Ukrainian Forces Destroy Advancing Russian BMP-3 Vehicles in Kursk Oblast

The Ukrainian military successfully destroyed Russian BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles of an enemy assault group in the Kursk oblast.

The 225th Separate Assault Battalion reported that their strike drones contributed to neutralizing enemy infantry.

In the morning, Russian forces attempted to breach the defense line, but all three BMP-3 vehicles were destroyed.

The equipment was destroyed by a unit adjacent to the 225th Battalion in this direction.

“At such moments, all units join in and finish off the enemy assault groups,” said the soldiers of the 225th Battalion.

During such assaults, it is important not to allow enemy infantry to gain a foothold, even if the assault vehicles have been destroyed.

“In such cases, we need to act quickly to prevent even single enemy infantrymen from gaining a foothold,” the military said.

The Ukrainian military managed to destroy BMP-3, which were equipped with 688M-SB3KDZ systems.

The 675-SB3KDZ and 688M-SB3KDZ on BMPs are protection kits consisting of polymer panels that are supposed to protect the vehicle from enemy fire.

In November, the Russian army resumed active mechanized assaults in the Kursk region.

This activity is likely driven by the Russian authorities’ unwillingness to use Kursk as a “bargaining chip” and their intent to retain control over all occupied Ukrainian territory.

Despite the pressure, Ukrainian troops manage to repulse attacks, inflict losses on the Russians, and hold the line of defense.
