Ukrainian Paratroopers Participate in Multinational “Three Swords-24” Exercises in Poland
Servicemen of the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade took part in a multinational exercise called THREE SWORDS-24 in Poland.
The Ukrainian contingent consisted of soldiers of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The two-week exercise aimed to test the cohesion of the military systems of the three states and assess the effectiveness of their multinational cooperation.
The Commander of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, Brigadier General Ihor Skybiuk, attended the official closure.
He reviewed the exercise plan and the tasks assigned to the multinational brigade. He praised the military personnel from different countries for their joint and effective performance of their assigned tasks.
Addressing the Ukrainian, Lithuanian, and Polish military, the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces noted that this event is a demonstration of a common goal, the goals and readiness of affiliated units under the leadership of the headquarters of Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian Brigade to plan, conduct, and carry out a wide range of military operations.
“The three nations, together with partners and allies, are constantly training together to achieve full interoperability and strengthen regional military cooperation in the long term,” Skybiuk stated.
The main task of the multinational exercise Three Swords-24 was to develop the skills of joint planning and conducting peacekeeping operations and increase the interoperability of international forces.
The commander of the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian Brigade named after Great Hetman Konstantin Ostrozhsky, Colonel Piotr Lisowski, stressed in his speech that the joint exercises improve interoperability and increase the brigade’s capabilities to support multinational deterrence and defense efforts.
Recall that the Brigade is a multinational military unit that includes units of the Lithuanian, Polish, and Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The agreement to create the Brigade was signed on September 19, 2014, in Warsaw. Its final formation took place in the fall of 2015. The creation of the Brigade embodied the continuous and long-term process of military cooperation between the three founding countries.
