Ukrainian Air Assault Forces demonstrated their Marder 1A3 IFV.

A video with maneuvers of these armored vehicles was published on the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces YouTube channel.

The military spoke about the technical capabilities of the IFV, and also noted the advantages of these vehicles in comparison with their Soviet counterparts.

The Marder 1A3 is equipped with a multi-fuel diesel engine, the V6 MB 833, with a capacity of 600 horsepower.

The IFV reaches a speed of 60-65 km/h along the highway and 30-45 over rough terrain.

The main armament of the vehicle is the MK 20 Rh 202 20mm gun, whose rate of fire is 1000-1200 rounds per minute.

In addition, the gun is paired with a MG-3 7.62mm machine gun with a rate of fire of 1000-1200 rounds per minute.

The squad compartment is designed for six soldiers. The IFV commander is the seventh in the combat compartment. He leaves his place of command during the landing on the battlefield and joins his squad.

The armored vehicle is equipped with a ramp that can withstand fire of 14.5mm caliber and protect the IFV.

The squad compartment is designed to carry six soldiers with full equipment. The location of seats makes it possible to comfortably accommodate soldiers and sit confidently during active maneuvering of IFVs and fast off-road movement. According to the soldiers, this IFV is much more comfortable than the Soviet BMP-1 and BMP-2 in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the soldiers, the transfer of more of these IFVs in A3 modifications would only bring our victory closer.

As Militarnyi reported earlier, Rheinmetall, commissioned by the German government, will transfer 20 additional Marder 1A3 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine this summer.

In addition, at Rheinmetall enterprises in Kassel and Unterlus, another 60 IFVs are being repaired, which will be available for Ukraine.

The company expects to produce up to 10 repaired IFVs in the Marder version per month.
