Ukrainian troops destroy two Pantsir-S1 systems in the Belgorod region
Ukrainian drones hit two Russian Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems in the Belgorod region.
The operators of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine operated the drones.
The intelligence released a video capturing a strike on enemy anti-aircraft missile and gun systems.
The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reported that on January 6, 2024, another special intelligence operation aimed at weakening the Russian Federation took place.
Within this mission, drone operators of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine struck at Russian air defense positions in the Belgorod region.
As a result of the drone use, two Russian Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems were disabled.
The report states that the special operation on Russian territory was carried out with the assistance of the United24 initiative.
The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine did not disclose further details of the operations or named the kind of drones that hit the Russian invaders’ air defense systems.
It is worth noting that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have repeatedly destroyed Russian 96K6 Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems.
One such incident occurred in the Kherson region in November 2023. The anti-aircraft missile and gun system was hit in the middle of a field near the village of Chaplynka. Most likely, it was destroyed using a drone or 227-mm GMLRS rocket ammunition.

The Russian Pantsir-S1 self-propelled anti-aircraft missile system is designed for the close cover of civilian and military facilities from air attacks.
The system’s main weapons include two 2А38М twin 30mm guns and 12 57Е6-Е anti-aircraft two-stage solid-fuel missiles.
