Ukrainian troops neutralize Russian soldiers with cluster munitions near Klishchiyivka village
Ukrainian forces neutralize Russian infantry with cluster munitions near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Bakhmut direction.
The military’s combat work in this area was demonstrated by DeepState project analysts.
To defeat Russian infantry155-mm M864 cluster shells are used.
The fire is adjusted due to a reconnaissance drone equipped with a thermal imager.
The Russian position, which is being shelled by U.S. shells, is located between two villages, Klishchiyivka and Opytne.
The video shows how the submunitions explode in a circular pattern, which is the effect of U.S. M864 cluster munitions.
72 bomblets of the M864 are placed in the projectile. These are 48 small M42 HEAT-Frag bomblets and 24 larger M46s.
When the submunitions disperse in a circle and explode, they create a zone of continuous destruction and a zone of fragmentation. Therefore, the impact zone of the cluster shells looks like a circle.
Presumably, the Russian servicemen are concentrating infantry at these positions to take part in the battle for Klishchiyivka.
Recently, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that the Defense Forces intend to liberate the settlement in the near future.
“Now you (the defenders – ed.), as always, are at the forefront of the attack, at the forefront of the fighting. You know that we have this (settlement) Klishchiyivka that needs to be liberated. And here, without exaggeration, your courage, your bravery, your skills are needed. And I don’t know anyone else who can fulfill these tasks,” Syrskyi said.
As previously reported, in late August, Ukrainian forces defeated Russian armored vehicles that were trying to advance near Klishchiyivka.
