The Defense industry of Ukraine has established the production of 122-mm and 152-mm artillery shells.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov announced about this during the briefing.

He also added that the production of 120-mm mines had already been established.

The works were carried out by the forces of the Ukroboronprom State Concern and the enterprises that are part of it.

New artillery shells for Soviet-era systems have already been tested.

“I hope that within a few months they will realistically increase their volumes. The commitment is already there. We have already tested their products, they work and will work on the battlefield,” the Minister of Defense of Ukraine said.

Oleksii Reznikov also emphasized that Ukraine currently does not plan to produce 155-mm ammunition for modern artillery systems.

The ministry hopes to continue receiving them from partners.

“But you and I, we have one Ukrainian Bohdana 155-mm wheeled self-propelled howitzer. It passed the first tests. We have a direct dialogue with the manufacturers,” the minister says.

If the production of this Ukrainian 155-mm wheeled self-propelled howitzer continues, then the production of ammunition will also be established for it.

“The 155-mm ammunition from our partners is enough for us, so far” Oleksii Reznikov noted.

As previously reported, an unnamed country is also supplying Ukraine with new projectiles for the Soviet-era systems. Recently, the Ukrainian military has showcased the use of foreign projectiles during firing with the 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer.
