Ukroboronprom told about a strike drone creation

The Ukrainian combat drone should be presented to the military by the end of this year.

This was announced at a briefing by Oleh Boldyrev, manager of Ukroboronprom, according to LB.ua.

He noted that the first tests of a drone with a 75kg warhead have already been successfully carried out.

The local development of drones is not limited to this one.

“Our heavy vehicle developed by us is not our only vehicle (UAV – ed.). This is the vehicle we have already talked about. <…> thousands of kilometers and 75kg of combat load… Such a vehicle will fly normally by the end of this year,” said Oleh Boldyrev.

He also added that the first tests of such an unmanned aerial vehicle have already been carried out.

“It has already taken off, it has already landed… This is a heavy vehicle, with more than 200 kg of take-off weight. This is a development that meets the tasks that were set for us by Valerii Zaluzhnyi at the beginning of August. Then a list of tasks from the system was set, one of which was as follows”, said the manager of Ukroboronprom.

Boldyrev announced the UAV demonstration to the military near the end of this year.

“I think that by the new year we will present it and show it to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As to our only customer so far,” he stressed.

The Ukroboronprom State Concern announced the development of Ukrainian weapons with a target range of up to 1,000 kilometers on October 17, in the midst of Russian airstrikes against Ukraine.

The following tactical and technical characteristics of the new strike unmanned complex were declared:

• Range – 1000 km,
• The weight of the warhead is 75 kg.

According to the concern, the Ukrainian development of its own complex is already at the final stage. No other details about these domestic weapons are announced due to secrecy.
