The aerial reconnaissance unit of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has neutralized a group of invaders with a Warmate loitering munition.

The corresponding video was released by the press service of the State Border Guard Service on its social networks.

According to representatives of the State Border Guard Service, a group of nine invaders was destroyed with a loitering munition.

“In the south, the border guards continue to inflict losses on the invaders. Together with other units of the Defense Forces, the border guards are destroying the invaders and inflicting significant losses on them, using aerial reconnaissance units,” the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports.

The video demonstrates the detection of a group of Russian servicemen by an air reconnaissance unit, as well as the subsequent launch and guidance of a kamikaze drone.

Warmate

Warmate is a loitering munition developed by WB Electronics. It was first introduced in 2014. The manufacturer claims that the ammunition is a good alternative to anti-tank-guided missiles.

These loitering munitions are used to hit lightly armored vehicles, air defense systems, radio electronic warfare and other critically important enemy objects.

The kamikaze drone allows for destroying enemy targets at a greater distance and simplifies the process of detecting and impressing the target in comparison with the ATGM.

Operators mark a point on the map, provide autopilot data for a strike — and the drone hits the target on its own. However, on the final segment of the path, the operator can still independently guide the drone to the target.

The version 3.0 of the combat unmanned aerial vehicle has improved parameters. These include, among other things, an increase in radio communication range and operating range. The new version is equipped with an engine that is significantly less noisy. The system has the ability to automatically fold the propeller blades in the final attack phase.

Previously, Militarnyi reported that benefactors had prepared 40 Warmate loitering munitions for the Ukrainian military.

Last year, a group of volunteers collected 64 million hryvnias for the Army of Drones project. With these funds, it was decided to purchase 40 Warmate drones.
