11 airports, over 350 bridges damaged within 100 days of war in Ukraine
During the 100 days of the war in Ukraine, thousands of kilometers of highways and railways have been either damaged or completely destroyed.
This is stated in the report of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
302 road bridges, 49 railway bridges, and 11 airports have also been damaged or destroyed.
4 Ukrainian seaports remain under Russian occupation.
“But these 100 days were not only a period of destruction and exhausting defense. Like our Defenders on the front line, we are also moving to our infrastructural counteroffensive,” the Ministry stated.
Hundreds of kilometers of roads have already been cleared and hundreds of kilometers of tracks repaired. 39 artificial structures are available for the citizens.
“While the military liberates our territories, they are being followed by an infrastructure team. The goal is not only to restore life in liberated towns and villages but also improve it,” the Ministry affirmed.
Military–industrial complex
The amount of damage caused by the occupiers to the state military–industrial complex exceeds 100 billion hryvnias.
“At the same time, we’ve just started assessing the scale of the destruction so this evaluation is provisional. One thing is clear – Russia must pay for it,” the Ukroboronprom State Concern declared.
In May, according to Ukroboronprom, the concern’s enterprises restored trophy equipment worth UAH 1.5 billion.
The state concern also announced that since the beginning of the war it has employed more than 1,000 employees. 16 of its employees have been awarded the Order of Courage of the Third Degree, five of them posthumously.
