A big fire in occupied Crimea

A fire broke out at an oil depot, or a large store is burning in the temporarily occupied by Russians Crimea.

Reports on the incident were published in the local Telegram channels and on social media.

Fire is observed in the village of Qurman (previously Krasnohvardiiske).

Eyewitness reports include photos and videos capturing flames and thick black rising smoke.

The incident was confirmed by the Center for Strategic Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and publishes relevant videos.

According to social media reports, the fire started in the early hours of Wednesday, August 31.

The ignition had likely happened at 6 a.m.

“Something is burning in the Krasnohvardiisky district. Smoke has been observed from six in the morning,” the locals shared.

Firefighters are now working at the scene, trying to put out the fire.

Qurman (Krasnohvardiiske) is an urban-type settlement in the Krasnohvardiisky district of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and is the administrative center of the district.

On August 28, explosions blasted on the southwestern coast of the temporarily occupied Crimea, near Cape Fiolent and Kozacha Bay.

The occupation authorities claimed that an unmanned aircraft was shot down over the sea.
