The Council of Ministers of Belgium has approved the 15th package of military aid to Ukraine.

RTBF reported about this, referring to the country’s Defense Minister.

As part of the new aid package, the Belgian Ministry of Defense will provide armored vehicles to Ukraine after they are repaired by Belgian industry.

An undisclosed number of M113 armored personnel carriers, which the Belgian army decommissioned more than a decade ago, are reportedly slated to be handed over.

“Support to Ukraine is not a competition between partner countries, but the result of a coordinated approach aimed at ensuring the best response to needs on the ground. This new aid package is fully in line with this logic,” said Belgian Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder.

The military assistance provided by Belgium is part of the coordination between the members of the Alliance, which are part of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine. The group aims to respond to specific requests made by Ukraine.

As of 2010, about 747 M113 armored personnel carriers remained in Belgium.

As previously reported, Belgium transferred 46 M113A1-B to Ukraine.
