The Ministry of Defense of Great Britain and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine discussed the current losses of the Russian military in the war.

Ben Wallace, British Defense Minister, stated that the Russian military had already lost 80,000 servicemen, of which more than 25,000 were killed.

He noted that Russia continues to suffer losses, and this will have a lasting impact on the country’s future combat effectiveness.

“It is estimated that to date, over 25,000 Russian soldiers have lost their lives. If you include killed, casualties, captured, or the now reported tens of thousands of deserters — over 80,000 dead or injured and the other categories,” Wallace said during his statement to lawmakers in the House of Commons.

It is worth noting that the Minister of Defense of Great Britain did not clarify whether this figure includes fighters from the occupied territories and representatives of the Russian security forces.

He also accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of “weaponizing” energy and urged his fellow Members of Parliament to communicate the state of affairs to their voters.

“It is important, I think, that we communicate to our constituents that some of the deeply uncomfortable times are facing us all are driven by effectively a totalitarian regime in Russia that is deliberately setting out to harm us and trying to test us about whether we will sacrifice our values for our energy costs,” the Minister of Defense of Great Britain said.

The summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, 50,150 invaders were neutralized.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the total combat losses of the Russian invaders from 24.02 to 05.09 approximately account:

As previously reported, the Russian Ministry of Defense had last reported Russian losses on March 25. At that time, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that in a month of the full-scale military operations, Russian troops had 1,351 people killed and 3,825 wounded. At the same time, the losses of the Russian Guard, OMON, and the police were counted separately, because they report to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, not the Ministry of Defense of Russia.

It is worth noting that the Russian side continues to withhold information about the losses of the Russian army in the course of hostilities from 2014 to February 24, 2022.
