The Bulgarian government has allowed its military to participate in training of the Ukrainian military in NATO member states.

The Bulgarian media BNR reported on this.

It is noted that by this decision, Bulgaria expresses its support for Ukraine, upholds Euro-Atlantic values, and reaffirms its solidarity with joint efforts to maintain international peace and security.

“Given the proximity of the conflict to our border and its importance for the security of Europe, this contribution is in line with the efforts of other Allies,” the communiqué of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria reads.

In 2022, Bulgaria allowed about 50 servicemen to participate in a European mission to train the Ukrainian military.

Last year, about 15 armored vehicle driving instructors spent about a month in Poland.

Militarnyi reported in June that the Czech Republic was considering holding additional exercises for the Ukrainian military.

Defense Minister Jana Černochová reminded that last year 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers were trained in the Czech Republic. The same number has been approved for this year.

At the same time, she added that the maximum number of shifts is 800 soldiers.
