After a series of defeats in Ukraine, Russia has changed the leadership of its army’s Western Military District.

The Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported about this.

The decision is induced by the devastating defeat of the Russian invasion forces during the offensive of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

“With the aim of restoring the group’s “stability of management”, it will be headed by the commander of the “Center” troop group, Lieutenant General Alexander Lapin, together with his staff,” the Defence Intelligence said in a statement.

Ukrainian intelligence reports that now the operational staff of the “Center” troop group has moved from Luhansk to the command post of the western group.

“The personnel decision regarding the further service of Lieutenant General Roman Berdnikov is under consideration,” the intelligence agency emphasized.

Roman Berdnikov stayed in his new position for two weeks: the lieutenant general was appointed commander of the Western Military District on August 26. His predecessor, Lieutenant General Andrey Sychev, was in office for only three weeks.

On September 10, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that in order to achieve the goal of the so-called “special operation” it was decided to “regroup” the troops in the districts of Balakliia and Izium.

The Russian agency claims that the “regrouping” is being done in order to “build up” forces in the Donetsk direction.

For this purpose, allegedly within three days, an operation was conducted to curtail and organize the transfer of the Izium-Balakliia group of troops to the territory of the so-called “DPR.”

During the offensive, the Ukrainian servicemen use propaganda rockets from 122-mm RM-70 multiple rocket launchers.

The rocket is intended for the delivery and subsequent dropping of propaganda materials on the territory temporarily occupied by the enemy.
