Engineering vehicles, ammunition, and drones: Germany has updated its list of assistance to Ukraine
Germany has updated its list of military aid for Ukraine. It includes additional ammunition, infantry fighting vehicles, engineering vehicles, and drones.
The update was published on the website of the German Ministry of Defense.
According to the list, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are to receive 5 Warthog all-terrain tracked carriers (repair and recovery vehicles) and 10 Warthog all-terrain tracked carriers (command vehicles).
The list includes 6 Wisent 1 mine clearing tanks (now totaling 32) and 2 Beaver bridge-laying tanks, bringing the total number to 17 units.
The list of planned aid also includes one Bergepanzer 2 armored recovery vehicle – now Germany is to donate 16 vehicles. The list also includes one DACHS armored engineer vehicle.
Germany added 10 mine ploughs to the list, meaning that Ukraine is now due to receive 43 units.
The planned aid package also includes drones: 14 Vector reconnaissance drones and 30 RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance drones. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are to receive anti-drone sensors and jammers and 180 RF 360 field kits – drone detection systems.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces will receive 400 IR cameras, one additional surveillance system, and three border protection vehicles.
Six Mercedes-Benz Zetros trucks were added to the logistics list. The Ukrainian Defense Forces will additionally receive 2,056 RGW 90 Matador man-portable anti-tank weapons, 24,000 40-mm rounds ammunition, 70 GMG grenade launchers, 3,000 camouflage nets, 2,000 ponchosб and 2 emergency power generators.
The list also includes 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, ammunition for Leopard 2A6 tanks, 18,000 155-mm ammunition, and missiles for the Patriot air defense system.
Militarnyi previously reported that Germany would allocate half a billion euros to purchase hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition to meet Ukraine’s urgent needs.
The new package also funds the purchase of 180,000 artillery shells within the so-called “Czech initiative,” the first of which are to arrive this summer.
