Explosion heard in occupied Luhansk

On the morning of Monday, May 15, an explosion was heard in the city of Luhansk, occupied by Russian forces.

Media has covered the incident on social networks.

Eyewitnesses are publishing photos and videos from the scene.

The Russian invaders report an alleged rocket attack on the city.

According to the reports on social networks, the premises of the former Luhansk Higher Military Aviation School of Navigators was damaged.

The building has caught on fire, with thick dark smoke rising into the sky.

As the invaders surrounded the site, the burning building could have been a military base or a barracks with military personnel of the Russian invasion forces.

Earlier, on Friday an explosion took place in the center of occupied Luhansk. A fire was reported on the territory of the former Machine Building Plant 100 – Polypak enterprise.

The type of missiles used in the strike is unknown, however the Russians have made a statement that the Armed Forces of Ukraine might use Storm Shadow cruise missiles.

Local residents found the wreckage of an ADM-160B MALD designed to distract enemy air defense systems near the site of the explosion. The transfer of these missiles to Ukraine’s service has not previously been reported.

On Saturday, May 13, in the morning, an explosion sounded again in occupied Luhansk. Propagandists claim it was a rocket attack on the village of Yuvileine in the suburbs of occupied Luhansk.

The building of the former University of Internal Affairs was reportedly damaged. According to some Russian media, military personnel of the Russian invasion forces could be inside.
