Kramatorsk Border Guard Detachment Expands to Forpost Brigade
The “Offensive Guard” has a new brigade, “Forpost”, consisting of border guards from the Kramatorsk detachment.
This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko.
“Among the border guards honored in the Kharkiv region, there are soldiers of the Kramatorsk Border Guard Detachment, which joined the “Offensive Guard” and expanded into a brigade called “Forpost”,” the Interior Minister wrote.
He emphasized: “This is a consistent step in further building up the border guard agency’s combat capabilities to confront the enemy together with other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.”
Klymenko stressed that the Kramatorsk detachment has been performing combat missions since 2015.
In the ATO/JFO areas, the soldiers held forward positions in the Mariinka and Horlivka directions.
And in February 2022, they were among the first to engage the enemy on the demarcation line in the Donetsk region.
“They are hardened by the fighting in eastern Ukraine: Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Maryinka, Lyman, Volnovakha, Vuhledar, Soledar, and Vovchansk,” the Interior Minister added.
He also noted that the Brigade is being equipped with the necessary equipment and weapons to perform its tasks.
According to the minister, the “forpostmen” have undergone training and approval in Ukraine and abroad.
In early February 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine began forming assault brigades of the “Offensive Guard” as part of the National Police, the State Border Guard Service, and the National Guard.
These units are aimed at strengthening the Defense Forces and liberating the occupied territories of Ukraine from Russian invaders.
