Latvian companies begin producing winter uniforms for Armed Forces of Ukraine

Latvian companies began sewing winter uniforms for the Ukrainian military.

This was announced by Oleksander Mishchenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia. He shared a photo of the manufacturing process.

According to the Ukrainian Ambassador, company “PRIVA” based in Riga, began sewing winter military uniforms for units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on November 5.

The project of producing uniforms for Ukrainian soldiers started due to the cooperation of the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia, the Confederation of Ukrainians of Latvia “VICHE” and the Latvian Latvijas Finieris company.

Winter uniforms are made specifically according to the specs provided by certain units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Although today and Saturday, Latvian masters went to work in order to be able to make the first batch of winter clothes as soon as possible, which is made according to NATO standards for Ukrainian soldiers,” the report said.

The first batch of the new winter uniform is planned to be sent in the near future.

“We plan to send this batch of uniforms in the near future with a humanitarian convoy along with other military-technical assistance,” wrote Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Oleksander Mishchenko.

He thanked everyone involved in providing the Ukrainian military with winter uniforms and helping Ukraine’s defenders fight against the Russian invaders.

“I sincerely thank the Head of Iveta Palmsalu [company] and all the employees of PRIVA for their professional approach to the production of military uniforms for Ukrainian soldiers, as well as for supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression,” Mishchenko said.

Earlier, several NATO member states promised to supply Ukraine with winter uniforms for the military.

Recently, Ukrainian border guards received drones from their colleagues in Latvia. The aid came in cooperation with the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia and the Ukrainian Border Guard Agency.
