A new batch of military aid from Lithuania has arrived for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ministry of National Defence Republic of Lithuania reported on this.

According to the report, the Lithuanian Armed Forces transported and handed over the necessary field equipment and tens of thousands of dry rations to the Ukrainian military.

According to Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas, various field equipment is especially necessary for troops in winter.

“We continue to do our best to facilitate Ukraine’s difficult struggle against the brutal aggressor. Each of our aid packages is an additional step towards victory,” he said.

In addition to the ongoing transfer of military equipment and gear, Lithuania also actively trains Ukrainian soldiers, provides treatment and rehabilitation for Ukrainians, prepares expert advice, and allocates funds to international funds to support Ukraine.

Lithuania has already developed a long-term assistance plan. A new military aid package for Ukraine worth €200 million is envisaged for 2024-2026.

Last week, Lithuania handed over several million cartridges and several thousand rounds of ammunition for short-range hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers to Ukraine, as well as about a thousand folding beds.

Recently, Lithuania repaired the first Leopard 2 main battle tanks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which were damaged during hostilities.

As previously reported, the German Ground Forces will deploy a permanently based mechanized brigade in Lithuania until 2027.
