Reznikov called electronic warfare as a priority for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov called electronic warfare (EW) systems one of the priorities for the rearming of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In an interview with the Livyi bereh, the Minister of Defense noted that among the priorities of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the issue of rearming are electronic warfare and electronic protection.

“We have a huge need to develop what is called electronic warfare and electronic protection. The world is developing towards unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned helicopters, unmanned tankettes, everything is unmanned. Complete robotization is underway. We understand that we need to develop as far as possible in the system of suppression, protection and surveillance,” the Minister of Defense said.

“In particular, we are most interested in the development of surveillance coverage of surface and underwater areas. It is about the Black Sea and Azov, “Oleksii Reznikov said.

In addition, Reznikov noted that Ukraine should develop its own unmanned aviation:

“We also have to develop our unmanned aerial vehicles. We have prospects for the construction of Bayraktar UAVs in Ukraine. And we have a great hope for Luch Design Bureau, which has its own development – Sokil-300,” – said the head of the Ministry of Defense.

In November, the Ukrainian army has reinforced dangerous areas of the border with the Bukovel-AD R4 EW systems.

Electronic warfare

This system is designed to disrupt the performance of flight tasks by unmanned aerial vehicles by radio electronic impact on the on-board electronic UAV`s systems.

The Bukovel-AD R4 EW system has been successfully used in the Donbas combat zone for several years to destroy an unmanned aerial vehicles.

Meanwhile, a Russian Orlan-10 UAV, which had crossed the demarcation line, was forced to land in the area of the Joint Forces Operation by electronic warfare.

In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces received R-330KV1М an automated radio interference stations for short-wave radio communications. The station allows you to block the operation of all modern shortwave radio stations, including those designed specifically for operation in conditions of active radio interference.
