Russia accused Armenia of helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the transfer of medicines to healthcare facilities.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said it had sent a note of protest to Armenia.

“In connection with the transfer of aid for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and unacceptable statements against Russia, a note of protest was sent to the Armenian Foreign Ministry,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Russia did not specify the content of the aid allegedly provided to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On June 2, during a working visit to Ukraine, Tigran Ter-Margaryan, head of the Nor-Nork administrative district of Yerevan, and Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine Vladimir Karapetyan met with Bucha Mayor Anatolii Fedoruk.

During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of establishing cooperation between the Bucha community and the Nor-Nork administrative district.

“We are proud of the courage of the Ukrainian people and are always ready to support Bucha and other communities affected by the hostilities,” Tigran Ter-Margaryan emphasized at the meeting.

The Armenian delegation laid flowers and honored the innocently killed Bucha citizens at the memorial complex that perpetuates their memory.

The delegation also handed over humanitarian aid in the form of medicines to healthcare facilities on the Ukrainian side.

The Russian Foreign Ministry’s statements against Armenia come amid tense relations between the two countries.

As previously reported, Armenia will not partake in funding the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which includes Russia and a number of other former Soviet countries.

Although Armenia has not withdrawn from the CSTO, it does not participate in the organization’s activities, including joint military exercises. Recalling the results of the second Karabakh war, President Nikol Pashinyan stated that the reason for this policy was the actual refusal of the CSTO member states to provide security support to Armenia.
