Russia will deploy tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

The head of the Russian Federation announced this.

According to Putin, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko has been requesting to deploy these weapons in the country for a long time.

The Russian president stated that the construction of a storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus should be completed by July 1.

In addition, according to Putin, the Iskander missile system, which can use this weapon, was transferred to Belarus.

Lukashenko also previously stated that a number of aircraft of the Belarusian Air Force have been converted to be able to carry nuclear missiles.

According to Putin, the decision to deploy nuclear weapons in Belarus was finalized after the UK announced its intention to provide Ukraine with shells containing depleted uranium.

These projectiles do not belong to nuclear weapons, and Russia does not consider them as such, but this news is used in Russia and Belarus for propaganda purposes.

Moscow reacted extremely sharply to Britain’s intentions, accusing London of nuclear escalation and promising retaliatory measures.

However, according to Putin’s interview, the missile system, as well as converted planes (Lukashenko also spoke about this earlier), were transferred to Belarus prior to the British statement.

As previously reported, the UK will transfer to Ukraine ammunition that includes armor-piercing rounds containing depleted uranium along with Challenger 2 tanks.
