Russian Coast Guards Boat Catches Fire in Azov Sea
A boat of the Coast Guard of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation caught fire in the waters of the Azov Sea.
The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reported on this.
The intelligence officers intercepted conversations of Russian border guards who reported a fire in the wheelhouse of a boat with the call sign “Kunitsa-76”.
Five Russian sailors were injured in the fire, and an emergency team and a helicopter were called in to help localize the fire.
The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine did not report on the fate of the boat, its crew, or the cause of the fire.
The type of boat where a fire started remains unknown. It’s possible that this boat is not part of the Black Sea Coast Guard but has been assigned to strengthen the group.
It is known that the Black Sea Coast Guard of the FSB includes at least 15 ships and 12 boats of various displacements. The largest representatives of the fleet of the Coast Guard of the FSB are the patrol vessels of Project 22460 Okhotnik.
It is worth noting that during the Russian-Ukrainian war, no losses of Russian Coast Guard ships were reported.
