Ukrainian Marines have “landed” the Russian “Orlan-10” reconnaissance drone.

Militarnyi informs about this.

The Command of the Ukrainian Naval Infantry Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that recently, in one of the areas of defense, a unit of the 501st Separate Battalion of Ukrainian Naval Infantry Corps “landed” a Russian “Orlan-10” UAV.

It is reported that while performing the combat duty, the marines noticed a reconnaissance drone.

“The marines say that it was flying low enough for this type of drone, but within the reach of the small arms.”

The military speculates that the drone may have run out of fuel or had other problems. The Marines struck it, after which the UAV fell a few kilometers away.

A group immediately rushed to the scene and found Russian servicemen trying to pick up their drone while being covered by an armored personnel carrier.

Our Marines did not get confused, bypassed the flanks, and gave battle. As a result, two invaders were wounded, one of them seriously – they managed to escape.

But they could not take away their Orlan-10 reconnaissance drone and it fell into the hands of Ukrainian soldiers.

Orlan-10 is a medium-range, multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle, it is used at distances of up to 120 km from the control point. In autonomous mode, it can fly a distance of 600 km.

Time in the air – up to 18 hours, flight speed – 90-150 km per hour. It weighs 14 kg and is launched from a special catapult.

With the help of this UAV, the Russians are not only correcting artillery fire but are also conducting radio reconnaissance and jamming mobile communications.
