Special forces conducted a special operation in the Kherson region

Ukrainian special forces conducted a combat operation in the occupied part of the Kherson region.

The Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine shared that they were working with the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the night of January 23 to 24, a special purpose group conducted a reconnaissance raid in the invader’s rear in the Nova Kakhovka area.

It is reported that the target of the special forces was the Russian military’s command post.

“Thanks to cooperation with the local resistance movement and with the help of special technical means, the special forces established the exact location of the advanced command post,” the intelligence officers shared.

Despite the dense mining of the coastline and installed fortifications, the group crossed the river and landed on the opposite bank.

“Having engaged in battle with the enemy, the special forces destroyed the building in which the command post with a grenade launcher was located,” the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported.

The invaders considered the landing as an attempt to break through the defense line, therefore, they immediately mobilized combat reserves.

“Due to this, intelligence received comprehensive information on the amount, composition, and locations of enemy reserves,” the servicemen noted.

The operation was carried out near the settlement of Dnipriany. The building of the Rybatsky hutorok (Fisherman’s Farm) hotel, located on the shore, was destroyed.

The Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine also mentioned that they inflicted losses on the Russians and took one prisoner.

“Special forces destroyed at least 12 invaders, a BTR-82A, and captured a prisoner. Having completed the task, the group returned to the right bank of the Dnipro river,” the special forces said.
