The Armed Forces of Ukraine made a strike at the Russian positions on Zmiyinyi Island – Operational Command “South”

Ukrainian defense forces took a strike at the Russian troops positioned on the captured Ukrainian island of Zmiyinyi in the Black Sea.

According to the Operational Command “South” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the strike at the Russians was committed yesterday, April 26.

“In the Black Sea operational zone, our forces inflicted damage on enemy positions on the Zmiyinyi Island. A command post was hit, and the Strela-10 surface-to-air missile system was destroyed. The losses among ruscists are being clarified,” the statement reads.

The Ukrainian military did not specify what weapons were used to strike at the Russian invaders on an island in the Black Sea.

Zmiyinyi Island was attacked by the invaders at the very beginning of the large-scale military invasion of the Russian troops in Ukraine. Later it was captured by the Russians, and the Ukrainian defenders of the island were taken prisoner.

It was during the defense of the island that the phrase of the Ukrainian border guard: “Russian warship, go fuck yourself” became the motto of Ukrainians in the fight against the Russian invaders.

The Operational Command “South” added that the Russian naval group was “reformatted in the direction of reduction.”

According to the Operational Command, total aggressors’ losses over the past 24 hours are 16 servicemen, 1 tank, and 4 units of automotive vehicles, including 2 armored ones.

Previously, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a unit of Russian military armored vehicles in Zaporizhzhya.

The occupying forces of Russia were shelled by the artillery units of Ukraine.
