The Netherlands will hand over M3 Amphibious Rig bridging vehicles to Ukraine.

The country’s Ministry of Defense announced this.

It is noted that the systems will allow the quick building of pontoon bridges for transporting equipment.

The number of vehicles planned to be transferred is not specified.

The Netherlands will also ensure that Ukraine receives a number of radar systems to detect drones.

“These resources and capabilities are obtained directly from industry,” the statement says.

M3 Amphibious Rig is a German amphibious bridging vehicle. It can assemble both bridges and ferries. The M3 is used to ferry tanks and other vehicles across water obstacles.

The vehicle was developed by the German Eisenwerke Kaiserslautern.

As previously reported, the Netherlands will transfer to Ukraine two Alkmaar-class minehunters for mine disposal and the coast guard of Ukrainian waters. In addition, the Netherlands and Belgium will train Ukrainian sailors to operate these ships.

This week, during her visit to Odesa, Kajsa Ollongren, Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, noted that the Netherlands had provided Ukraine with €1.2 billion worth of aid.

This includes self-propelled guns, Patriot systems, and tanks provided by the industry.
