The tank was captured in the Luhansk region. No significant damage to the tank is to be seen.
According to Oryx analysts, the military of the Defense Forces of Ukraine captured 2 of these tanks, and another 2 were damaged and abandoned by the Russians. Also, 2 of these combat vehicles were destroyed.
In September, during the retreat of Russian troops, the Ukrainian military captured one T-90M ‘Proryv’ in the Kharkiv region.
The Russian military received the first batch of Т-90М tanks in 2020. It was transferred to the 2nd Guards Motor Rifle Division of the 1st Guards Tank Army.
T-90M ‘Proryv’ was developed as part of the ‘Proryv-3‘ RTD and is an upgraded version of the Russian T-90 main battle tank, which in turn is an upgrade to the Soviet Т-72 tank.
These vehicles received a fundamentally new turret and a more powerful engine. The tanks are equipped with a new multi-channel sight, ensuring the proper use of weapons at any time of the day.
The tank is equipped with standoff armor and Relikt explosive reactive armor. It can also be equipped with the Arena-M active protection system.
At the end of November, the destroyed T-90M ‘Proryv’ tank was discovered in a dismantled Russian convoy in the area of the village of Kyslivka, Kharkiv region.
Enemy equipment was destroyed back in September, but the Ukrainian military could only examine the convoy now.
