The USA will announce a new $600 million military aid package for Ukraine – media
The Pentagon will likely announce another $675 million in weapons transfers to Ukraine on Thursday.
The Washington Post reports about this with reference to the American government officials.
The assistance will include additional rounds for HIMARS, which the Armed Forces use to pinpoint strikes on important objects of the Russian invaders.
“The official, who spoke to journalists on the condition of anonymity, said the rounds for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, or HIMARS, will be accompanied by vehicles and other equipment for Ukrainian soldiers,” the publication shared.
As previously reported, the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting will be held on September 8 in the so-called “Ramstein format”.
Ukraine Defense Contact Group will meet in Germany at the American airbase Ramstein.
Also, several NATO member countries promised to hand over winter uniforms for the servicemen to Ukraine.
At the end of July, Ukraine reached out to its partners to help prepare the army for the cold weather. Oleksii Reznikov, Ukrainian Defense Minister, wrote a letter to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
He called to help Ukraine with winter clothes and winter tents for 200,000 soldiers.
Since then, NATO countries have been looking for the available ammunition in their depots so that the Ukrainians could fight against the Russian invaders even during the cold season.
Also, Spain sent another plane with large-caliber artillery system ammunition to Ukraine.
This is already the fifth supply of arms to Kyiv from Madrid over the past few days.
