Near Bakhmut, the Ukrainian military has destroyed two 2S9 Nonas self-propelled mortars belonging to the Russian invaders.

The video featuring the damage to the enemy’s equipment was published on social networks.

Russian weapons were destroyed in the village of Klishchiivka, Donetsk region.

Two 2S9 Nona were hit with artillery fire by the Ukrainian forces holding the defense in that direction of the front of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The enemy was struck by soldiers of the 128th Territorial Defense Battalion working jointly with the “Adam” tactical group.

In the first case, the Russians deployed a 2S9 self-propelled mortar near the road in close proximity to the destroyed buildings.

The Ukrainian drone detected it and adjusted artillery, which destroyed the self-propelled mortar with a well-aimed strike. The hit was followed by a powerful explosion, which left the Russian 2S9 Nona burning.

In the second case, also in the village of Klishchiivka, the invaders placed their 2S9 Nona self-propelled mortars near the building and covered it with tree branches.

However, it did not prevent the Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance from discovering the self-propelled mortar, used by airborne troops of the Russian armed forces.

After detecting the enemy’s weapons, Ukrainian artillery began to strike at its location.

One of the shells detonated next to the Russian 2S9 Nona, leading to a fire and, subsequently, to the complete destruction of the self-propelled mortar, which, in particular, can fire 120mm mortar rounds.

The 2S9 Nona self-propelled mortar is intended for direct fire support of airborne units on the battlefield. The main armament of the mortar is a 120mm mortar gun.

It is capable of aiming without prior preparation both from closed positions and with direct fire.

The capabilities of this mortar make it possible to use it not only for the destruction of manpower and defensive structures, but also to fire at armored vehicles.
