Ukraine receives Stryker equipped with Protector RWS Remote Weapon Stations

The United States provided Ukraine with Stryker Armored Personnel Carriers with Protector RWS Remote Weapon Stations.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov showcased footage featuring the transferred U.S. armored vehicles.

The first Stryker Armored Personnel Carriers were received by Ukrainian soldiers from the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.

“I’m glad that the best soldiers in the world are getting the best vehicles from our partners. They will bring us closer to victory,” Oleksii Reznikov said.

The Minister of Defense also conducted a test drive of the transferred armored vehicles, which are being transferred to the Ukrainian military with M151 Protector Remote Weapon Stations (RWS).

The M151 Protector Remote Weapon Station is equipped with a large-caliber M2 machine gun.

The Remote Weapon Station consists of an installation with electronic-optical sights and with the ability to control the installation from inside the vehicle with a high degree of accuracy.

The M151 Protector is designed for small and medium caliber weapons and can be mounted on many platforms.

The Protector also has M6 smoke grenades to hide the vehicle from enemy sight.

As previously reported, on January 19, the Pentagon announced that it would provide Ukraine with 90 Stryker Armored Personnel Carriers with 20 mine rollers.

Ukraine will receive Stryker Armored Personnel Carriers for the first time. The US emphasized that they are very necessary for Ukraine.

Stryker has been manufactured since 2001. During this time, armored personnel carriers underwent a number of modifications and confirmed their effectiveness. Their interior has additional interior trim. This helps the crew to survive even when the armored personnel carrier receives serious damage.
