Ukraine to receive 100 Delair kamikaze drones from France

The French government ordered 100 kamikaze drones by Delair for Ukraine.

On Thursday, February 29, the Minister of Defense of France Sébastien Lecornu announced this on the X social network.

Drones should arrive in Ukraine already in the summer of 2024.

“Thanks to an innovative program, France is ordering 100 drones by Delair that will arrive in Ukraine this summer,” Lecornu wrote.

According to him, the French military-industrial complex will receive an order for a total of 2,000 such loitering munitions for the French army and Ukrainian Defense Forces.

At the same time, the French Minister did not specify in his message what models of UAVs will be transferred to the Ukrainian army as part of the defense assistance.

Lecornu also reminded that the French company Delair had already handed over more than 150 drones to Ukrainian Defense Forces last year.

It is noted that the drone models had been chosen by Ukraine, and the funding had been provided by the French Republic.

The manufacturer has various modifications of drones. It is not specified which models Ukraine received.

Delair, as one of the world’s leading drone manufacturers, offers fixed-wing UAVs. The company offers its customers the DT46, DT26 Line, and UX11 drones.

Delair was chosen by the French army to create drones.

The program is aimed at rapid development of low-cost French remote-controlled drones that will be easy to use and capable of hitting light targets at a range of 5 kilometers.
