Ukrainian Defence Forces hit an Russian Zhitel EW system in the Donetsk region

The Ukrainian military discovered and destroyed an enemy R-330Zh Zhitel electronic warfare system in the Donetsk region.

The corresponding video was published by the Come Back Alive Foundation on social media.

The Russian invaders placed their EW system near the occupied settlement of Yasynuvata, located near Donetsk.

To hit the enemy electronic warfare system, the Ukrainian defenders used the American M142 HIMARS.

By an accurate strike by a GMLRS rocket, the R-330Zh Zhitel system was disabled.

In Come Back Alive Foundation said that the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ Shark drone had discovered the position of the Russian invaders and adjusted the strike.

This UAV was acquired and transferred to military aerial scouts within the framework of the first “EYE FOR THE EYE” project of the Come Back Alive Foundation and the OKKO network.

The Russian R-330Zh Zhitel electronic warfare system is designed for automated detection, direction finding and analysis of radio emission signals in the operating frequency range.

It is stated that the system created radio interference to subscriber terminals of Inmarsat and Iridium satellite communication systems. As well as the equipment of consumers of the NAVSTAR (GPS) satellite navigation system and base stations and terminal devices of cellular radio communication.

Destruction of UAV operators of invaders

The Ukrainian military also hit the position of Russian ZALA 421-16E2 drone operators with the help of the HIMARS.

With the help of such drones of various modifications, Russians detect Ukrainian positions and adjust fire from various weapons.
