Ukrainian Military Receives Ai-Petri SV Electronic Warfare System
Petro Poroshenko handed over to the military the Ukrainian-made Ai-Petri SV electronic warfare system.
The politician announced this on social media.
“Our Ai-Petri cyber defense system proved its effectiveness, covering a significant part of the front in the East. From today we will close another 60 km with a dome, because the army has three new systems. We pass them on to guys who are on the first line of fight,” he said.
In addition to the system, the military received a command post vehicle, which is equipped with monitors and a generator.
Recently, Militarnyi reported on the transfer of such a complex to the 18th Center for Countering Technical Intelligence.
Ai-Petri SV
According to the developers of Ai-Petri SV, it is able to detect the position of the Russian UAV operator, disorient FPV drones, and even prevent the operation of Russian corrected aerial bombs.
It is stated that the complex consists of an electronic warfare station, a modern radar station and an anti-drone device. In addition, the complex includes pickups, a command and staff car on the truck chassis, secure communications and an autonomous power supply.
Previously, Poroshenko reported that Ai-Petri SV would be able to “crush” Russian UAVs at a distance of up to 20 kilometers.
It is worth noting that the video, along with the already common antenna system EW, showed an optical device of unknown purpose. It is directed in the same direction as the antennas. The latter may indicate that this is a surveillance device or a laser station.
A comment from Poroshenko last year regarding the new complex is partly supporting the version of using laser emitters to blind the optical devices of Russian drones.
“When I saw on paper that this EW could… blinding UAV Zala and “Orlan” – it seemed fantastic. But our team believed the developers.”
According to Poroshenko, the research and development of this technique have been going on for a long time. The project is engaged in one of the classified companies of the Ukrainian defense industry, which has been producing EW systems since 2014.
