Ukrainian paratroopers used an FPV drone to destroy a Russian Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system.

Volunteer and blogger Serhiy Sternenko posted the video of the incident.

The enemy air defense system was attacked by a UAV of the 77th separate airmobile brigade.

According to the volunteer, the 9A331M self-propelled gun was hit by a heavy FPV drone that was supplied to the Ukrainian military within public procurement.

The Russians deployed their Tor-M2 air defense system in an open area on the temporarily occupied territory.

According to observers who monitor the course of hostilities in the Russian-Ukrainian war, a fire launcher of the invader’s air defense system was detected and hit near the village of Zmiyivka in the Luhansk region.

Judging by the video, the Tor-M2 was hit directly, but the anti-aircraft missiles did not detonate.

After being hit, the missile launcher started to smoke and quickly left its position in an attempt to hide from Ukrainian drones and strike again.

The Russian invaders are actively using Tor air defense systems to provide air defense for their troops and important facilities near the front. At the same time, these air defense systems are often unable to counteract their own detection and destruction by Ukrainian drones and other weapons.

During the Russian invasion, the invasion forces lost more than 20 units of the Tor air defense system. In particular, such a system was recently destroyed by HIMARS in the Zaporizhzhia sector.

Tor SAM

The Tor air defense system is a Soviet and Russian tactical anti-aircraft missile system designed to address air and missile defense tasks at the divisional level. It can simultaneously hit up to four targets at a distance of up to 16 kilometers and at an altitude of up to 10 kilometers. The ammunition of one launcher is 16 missiles.

The system’s 9A331 self-propelled combat vehicle is capable of operating autonomously, independently detecting and hitting the target. Its crew consists of three people.
