President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky introduced the new head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Oleh Ivashchenko.

The President’s press service reported on this.

“He is a professional man who understands intelligence activities and our main state goal,” the President emphasized.

The President noted that Ukrainian intelligence should work everywhere in the world where Ukraine has and may have interests. Also, wherever in the world Putin’s system is trying to win something for itself, Ukraine should win.

Zelensky noted that in wartime, there are absolutely non-public things that the Foreign Intelligence Service must provide promptly and efficiently.

“This is the potential of influence measures, intelligence work, and actual military activities that Ukraine expects from you, and this is why the Foreign Intelligence Service is headed by a combat general,” Zelensky said.

On March 26, President Zelensky dismissed Oleksii Danilov from the post of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and appointed Oleksandr Lytvynenko, the former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, to replace him.

Oleksiy Danilov was the thirteenth Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and held this position from October 3, 2019.
