Zelensky: Russians are gathering a new grouping of forces near Ukrainian borders

Russians are gathering a new grouping of troops near the border, 90 kilometers away from the border with Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated this.

“It is Russia that is the only source of aggression and is constantly trying to expand the war. Just now, these days, we are defending ourselves 60 kilometers northeast of this place from another attempt of the Russian offensive,” the President said.

Volodymyr Zelensky added that Russia is preparing for an offensive, and another group of troops is gathering 90 kilometers from our border.

“Does Russia want a dialogue? Ukraine has the world’s largest experience of lies from Russia during negotiations. Deception, which, in particular, was Russia’s cover for the preparation of this war,” Zelensky said.

Battles for the Kharkiv region

Despite the constant attempts of the Russian invasion forces to break through the Kharkiv region’s defenses, Ukrainian troops are steadfastly defending every meter of land and conducting counteroffensives.

On May 23, it was reported that Ukrainian paratroopers with Western armored vehicles were involved in the battles in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region.

Ukrainian paratroopers were using American Stryker armored personnel carriers in the battles. The video captured that paratroopers in Stryker APC attacked the Russian invaders in one of the houses in the northern part of Vovchansk.

On May 22, Militarnyi reported that operators of the unmanned systems battalion and the Lumiere group unit of the 3rd Assault Brigade destroyed an enemy 2S4 Tyulpan 240mm self-propelled mortar in the Kharkiv region.

After further reconnaissance, the operators performed control hits and re-attacked the 2S4 Tyulpan mortar with FPV.

It was also reported that the Ukrainian Air Force destroyed a stronghold of the Russian invaders in Vovchansk.

Ukrainian aviation struck the building of the central district hospital in Vovchansk, where Russian assault units were based.

Judging by the hit’s accuracy, the Ukrainian Air Force aircraft used high-precision bombs that Ukraine received from its Western partners as part of military assistance to counter the Russian invasion.
