Ukraine is willing to receive 11 additional Zuzana 2 wheeled self-propelled guns from Slovakia.

The relevant agreement is currently expected to be signed.

Jaroslav Naď, Slovak Defense Minister, stated this at a briefing at Ukraine Media Center Odesa on Wednesday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“I can say that an agreement was signed [ed. – in June 2022] for 8 self-propelled guns, and they are already in Ukraine. There is also an agreement between Slovakia, Germany, Denmark, and Norway to supply 16 more Zuzana 2 self-propelled guns during the year, which will be paid for by these countries,” Naď said.

The Defence Minister pointed out that Slovakia is working on this and will resume supplying Ukraine with wheeled self-propelled guns this year.

“Recently, I received information that there is a request from the Ukrainian side for 11 more of these guns, we are expecting to sign the agreement. We are working closely with representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, they visited us last week. I hope that we will be able to reach an agreement,” Minister Naď emphasized.

As previously reported, Ukraine recently received the 8th Zuzana 2 wheeled self-propelled gun from Slovakia. This is the last self-propelled gun from those ordered by Ukraine in June of last year.

Besides, in October of last year, it was reported that Germany, together with Denmark and Norway, will finance the production and supply of Slovak 155 mm Zuzana 2 wheeled self-propelled guns for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the media, the cost of this contract is € 93 million.

Zuzana 2 is a 155mm wheel-mounted, self-propelled gun manufactured by the Slovak company ZTS Special. This is an upgraded version of the Zuzana 155 mm, which was preceded by the Czechoslovak 152 mm SHkH vz.77 DANA self-propelled gun.

Due to the 52-caliber length barrel, the Slovak ACS is capable of shooting at a maximum distance of up to 40 km.

The turret turns 360 degrees, and thanks to automation, the number of crew members consists of 3 people.
